Hi, just looking around to see if others from Calgary are using this forum.

I live in Medicine Hat, and boy is it hard to find Low-carb stuff here! WE do come to Calgary fairly regularly, though. Any stores there you would recommend for things like Davinci, or La Tortilla Factory etc?

Yipee, I don't live in Calgary but my mom does. She buys her low carb stuff at a place called the Diabetic Depot. I checked it out when I was there in October and they have a great selection of DaVinci syrups, La Tortillas, bread, SF treats, etc. Here's the address

Calgary Co-op recently announced that they will be carrying a line of low carb breads. GNC (vitamin and health store) carries a good line of Low Carb food items, and Morning Sun Health food stores also carry some low carb items. I'll let you know about more as I find them.

Hi Marge - I'm from Calgary too! I'm not on here too often, but I do check when I have time! I'm on Atkins - or as Atkins as I can be! What program you doing??

Oh ya! The LC products in Calgary, what a challenge eh?
Co-op is almost always sold out!!
Superstore - still hasn't got with the program for breads, but the cheapest place to buy Advantage Bars!
Sobeys - only sells bread, but is always out! I think they get 10 loaves a week
Diabetic Depot I thought was pretty good, but $$$, I do love the sugar free jelly bellys they sell!!
GNC - is where I have had the most luck and support from staff! They sell it the LC mixes etc. for a pretty reasonable price, and good vitamins (closest to Atkins aval. in Canada).
Costco - nothing other than the advantage bars and endulge bars, but the cheapest place! I love the endulge bars!! But I get the Advantage Bars at Superstore for $2.00 ea when you buy 15, but I on;y like the Peanut Butter ones, so that's why!

So - there is my 2 cents on Calgary LC!!

My friend & will have to take a drive out to the Diabetic Depot. We live in the north west so it isn't really all that far to go.

We've been to GNC in Market Mall. Morning Sun (located in more malls) also carries some LC product.

Yes - I was at GNC today in Shawnacy, they do not carry as many LC products as the mall locations do, so stick to the mall locations I guess!

looks like I won't have to drive very far to find a DD. My husband noticed a new one just opened up in Ranchlands. Once I've checked it out, I'll post the address.

Wow, great going on the weight loss . As I have just started on Atkins (lost the first 15 by just cutting back) I have become much more aware of the prices. The people at DD were super friendly and this is their third store.

Pretty sad state of things when a specialty store has to open to help us lose weight.

I'm trying to keep a good sense of humor about it. I even wore pj pants under my dress pants 'cause it's bloody freezing on the bus too.

Feel sorry for the poor people who don't bundle up with 15 layers and heavy boots. Everyone gets a kick out of me as I unwrap and rebundle at work...
