This is helping with br issues but I am curious how much others take? Is 1000 too much? It seems to be the amount I need to make things move but one of my friends said that is high?

i take 1200mg every night. if you're taking too much, you'll see the effects. and it won't be constipation!

The type you take makes all the difference. Oxide and citrate will make you go potty because they're not absorbed well. Most goes to the intestines where it draws in water. You probably wouldn't want to take that much of a more absorbable type.

1000+ mg is the usual laxative amount.

I've taken a lot more than that without problem. But I spread it out over two doses. If it's what's working for you - go with it.

I was told to start at 750mg since most people don't get enough to start with. If no diarrhea, up it to 1000. I actually started at 1000 and can't say I've noticed any change in bm's and I've been taking it for over a week. I'm considering upping it. When this bottle is gone, I'm going to try out the Magnesium glycinate or threonate...both with better absorbability.

Great thanks everyone. So it sounds like 1000 will work. The more I eat, the better it works for some reason?
