Default Quit smoking. Does low carb help?

Hello!

This topic is about my boyfriend, who decided to quit smoking. I have never smoked myself, so I don't know what it would be best to do to help him. Quiting carbs is somekind similar to this, but definetely not the same.

So, first of all, I would like your advice on how to help him.

Then, as I have read quitting smoking will raise his apetite. He asked me to find him something salty to eat for breakfast, that will also make him feel full. Since low-carb makes you feel full more easily, would it be better if I lead him to a low-carb diet? Or should I leave him eat his carbs? I would do anything to help him and I wouldn't mind if he gained 20 pounds or more. So what is I should focus on his diet?

Thanks in advance.
