Having said that, BawdyWench (in rural Maine), overnight I dropped 1.4 lbs so I'm at:
Wife:180.2 lbs
Husband:206.2 lbs

This is a new weight for me. Let's see how it holds. See my journal to understand the many small permutations that led to this overnight drop.

Barbara,

Way to go!!!
The body is so funny, it does what it wants to do no matter how hard we try to do the right thing.

Go figure.

Wife popped back up to 182.2 lbs (from just a day at 180.2lbs)
Husband about to drop down to 205lbs again.

Both will admit to being less than Pennington-perfect in the recent days. Wife had a white peach and wine and low-sugar dark chocolate and 2 flax muffins in last 48 hours. Husband had seasonally ripe plums and wine and a flax muffin. Low carb but not Pennington plan.

Husband says plums do result in weight retention, but he's OK with that. Since our yard is scattered with ripe, juicy black plums, we aren't tossing them or just donating them. He's just eating two a day. He adores cold, ripe plums. Their season is short.

I am sticking to this diet cuz I know.... it WORKS!!!

To lose the weight again feels goood.. clothes are getting bigger. I would rather them than me...

Anyone can do this. On any diet you need to committ to it totally to work so why not this one.

Husband is ecstatic--spent Sunday trying on elegant suits and office apparel from days of yore and they fit to a T. They're still in style because he favors a classic look.

Husband: 204
Wife: 184 point something

thanks.

that is the part that I really like, is trying on clothes that have been sitting in the back of the closet just waiting and waiting.
Putting them and they fit again is the best!!

Any money not spent at Nordstroms* is money saved!

*(Note to people in other parts of the world: Nordstroms, while not Harrods of London, does have musicians who play the baby grand piano in tuxedos while you shop).

Am going to return to posting menu for a week and see if it helps me stay better focussed on the few (but good) choices I have. The reason for this is that while I was at 180-ish briefly, I've climbed back up to 184-ish, gaining steadily while trying to add back in low carb ideas from other people. I can't have flax muffins, Torani or Da Vinci sugar free syrups, alcohol, chocolate and sustain weight or sustain weightloss at the present time. So for the time being I will put blinders back on and not try anyone else's treats--just stick to meat and the ten things I'm allowed on Pennington/Anchell, because it has worked in the past much more reliably.

We have been living under a deep, dark cloud for several days and cool, foggy morning temp is high 60s rather than the 80 at 8 am we had for weeks before. Such a blessed relief!

Breakfast:
Chuck steak, watermelon, coffee with cream
