Default Quorn Anyone?

Have you tried this product, and if so, how did you like it?

The only Quorn I've used is the ground Quorn, and the ones that are similar to an unbreaded chicken breast cutlet. The grounds are okay; didn't much like the texture of the cutlets.

I'm a Quorn cutlets lover. We use it instead of turkey on the holidays-- as well as throughout the year. I like the naked, in the roll shape, or breaded. I like Quorn way better than Morningstar or Boca foods. (For some reason, after several years I've grown to dislike textured veggie protein. I may have developed an allergy or something.) So if you're considering trying Quorn, then try it for yourself. Only you can tell if you'll be a Quorn person, or not.

Quorn is delicious! I'm not sure what the carb count is, but I know I love Quorn's version of chicken. so good!

All:

Thou hast no right but to do thy Will.

Quorn rules: complete vegetarian protein (though much of it comes from eggwhites), very realistic taste, versatile, high-protein, is not tofu , negligible saturated fat, has zinc.

Love is the law, love under will.

I haven't tried a Quorn product I didn't like. I haven't had the breaded products, like the chicken nuggets, but my grandson (13) would eat 2 boxes at once if you have them. I like the texture better Tofurky products, and they seem less salty, too. Some of the products are a bit high in carbs, but doable.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for all your replies!

I tried the breaded nuggets (not too bad, carb-wise, if you only have 4 at a time). I like them! I made a dipping sauce of light mayo, mustard and sugar-free honey ( Steel's Honey Flavor Nature Sweet ).

I also tried the "Tenders". They are like small pieces of chicken. I used them in a stir-fry with mixed veg and some reduced sodium organic Tamari soy sauce. Yum!

I am truly a Quorn fan now! And I agree, Faithnj, I no longer care for the Boca Burgers. I might have a Mornigstar Farms veggie patty once in a while, though! [BTW, I'm originally from NJ, too!]

I love Quorn. It surprisingly came out here in England before it did in the US.

I love the chicken style pieces. I marinade them with veggies and then grill them. Or saute them and then put them into a salad.

One nice thing about the Quorn company is if you email them about a product they almost always send you money off vouchers.

Since soy products make me burp Quorn suits me to a T.

Here's another Jersey girl who now lives in England.

I love quorn products other than boca burgers they are the only meat substitutes that I really like, I have served them to non veggies that have said, "I thought you didn't eat chicken" The roast is a favorite as well as the nuggets watch out for the carbs in the breaded items. Nice to have more soy alternitives for my grandson as we rely to much on soy products tofu, soymilk, soy sausage, and boca burgers. TerryWA

Hi dm2004 and Terry WA!

Yes, I love Quorn now, too! I tried the chicken cutlets recently. I simply nuked them and melted some cheese on top.

I'm a fan!

P.S. TerryWA, I feel honored that you visited my thread for your first post on this forum! Your weight loss is fantastic!

Welcome to the forum!

Love,
Barb

There's one thing really nice about the Quorn people. If you email them via their web site to give your opinion on one of their products they will usually send you vouchers as a thank you.
This has happened to me several times now.
I might do it again because I can't find their lemon and black pepper strips, which I really love. I make a salad and then put them into it.
I don't like their other strips though.

We love Quorn. We use all the different types...just don't care for the roast. I like the Tofurky roast much better.

I guess I will have to give it another try. Tried it once and hated it. Love Boca products and MSFarms chix nuggets (though not when doing a low carb program).
