Don't you hate this dismissive "your .... is perfect healthy"???
I know I do
Every time someone told me "your thyroid is perfectly healthy" I was tempted to answer with "if it was perfectly healthy why don't I feel healthy at all?"
When I had my thyroid ultrasound I was told that it looked "perfect, with the exception of few calcifications". However when I asked "Why doesn't it work properly? Why do I have hypothyroid symptoms?" I did not get a reasonable answer.
It is possible to have inflammation and not have a goiter. Swelling and choking sensation could also be caused by antibodies attacking healthy thyroid tissue - this can not be detected by ultrasound, blood tests should be done too.
