Default pot belly - part of apple shape or pear shape?

Does anyone know if the pot belly (on me, a couple of inches below the navel) is considered part of the unhealthy apple shape or part of the more healthy pear shape? It seems to be slightly above the latitude of the saddlebags on my hips, so I'm at a loss.

Thanks - minnat3

Stop it now before it grows on you-lol

I think its a pear shape if it is below the waistline. The apple shape is belly fat over rib cage midsection and meets up with the potbelly.

Its hard to say how you will lose. I used to think it was last on first off but I have lost in my arms and legs not the newest problem. Then again I have not lost much. Gwet moving-exercise will be the best move you can make

Thanks for your reply, bevbme. Unfortunately I didn't measure, just weighed, last summer when I started lowcarbing, so I don't know how much worse the pot was back then. I do both weight training and a little on the stair climber each week, so I hope I'm figuring out how to diminish it. Since I started measuring, about Jan '03, pot has remained at about 35", while waist has declined to 30" and hips to 36". Other parts of me are getting pretty firm - just can't shake that pot. From reading this board, I gather I'm not alone!

Sounds like you are doing the right things You are really close to goal-WOW

There was a thread a couple months back on how fat changes over time.
THe good news was after you are at a lower weight for a while those problem spots will smooth out even if you dont lose more.

When I first started I couldnt do crunches Now I always end my stretching after Curves with crunches.
