Hi Katy!
I know that there are those who have tackled both weight loss and quitting smoking at the same time, but I have to say it's a tough row to hoe and I personally wouldn't attempt it. I know for myself, quitting was the top priority when I decided once and for all to quit so I focused on that and tried not to obsess about the weight. Don't get me wrong, I still counted carbs and watched what I ate, but knowing that smoking was artificially increasing my metabolism, I was willing to accept that I either wouldn't lose anything or that I just might gain a few pounds while I was working on improving my health on that front. Once I was confident in my quit, I turned my attention to losing the weight I had regained (5-7 lbs IIRC...it's been almost 5 years).
