Question Atkins vs Schwarzbein

I have only just discovered your great forum and I have not heard of Schwarzbein before.
How does it differ from the Atkins diet, what does it entail and which one has the best results for CFS.
I read something about the high protein diet effecting adrenaline, so too much for CFS to cope with.
I'm only a little overweight from being immobile and more intrested in having energy.
If anyone can give me any information that would be great.
Thanks

I tried Atkins for 4 months, no weight loss, and towards the end my fibromyalgia got so much worse. I started Schwarbein II almost one month ago, and I have only had one fibro flare up! I think this is a great plan for anyone with adrenal issues. I have also lost 5 pounds. I feel much better on Schwarzbein than I ever did on Atkins. I still think Atkins is a great plan, but it didn't work for me, I think it was too much protein.

If you have any other questions, let us know!

You have persuaded me to try Schwarzbein. How is it different from Atkins and what book would you recommend to start with

I would start with SP II: the transition. It is very balanced with your protein intake figured by your weight. It includes foods from all groups and more carbs than Atkins. Dr. S. says ketosis is bad for you metobolically. She advocates real whole organic foods, no fake foods same as Atkins, she also lists beneficial supplements to take like Atkins does. Her Principle for which the book is named is "You do not lose weight to get healthy, you get healthy to lose weight." I stopped exercising to focus on balancing my diet and getting more sleep (your body heals only when you sleep, that's also when you lose weight) and I've lost 4 lbs in 4 weeks. I only have 6 left to lose, so slow is fine with me. I will stay off this time!! Welcome to the club!!

Liz
