Default stress eating

My 14 year old dog got ran over last night . It was very stressful and I want to eat everything I can get my hands on today. I haven,t eaten anything but I am surprised and the strength of the desire. Every time I get really down thinking about what happened I find myself in the kitchen. I have told myself that no its not a option I can deal with this stress on the elliptical or a walk or come here.

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is always hard, but certainly losing one so unexpectedly is even harder. Under the circumstances I would suggest that you eat something, or several somethings, but make sure they are part of your plan. Don't go diving into the carbs, but cook up a pan of bacon, or enjoy an avocado with mayonnaise, or something along those lines - you obviously know best what sort of low carb foods might be comforting to you. Don't worry too much about the amount at this time, just make sure whatever you eat is on plan for you.

thankyou everyone. Its hard not diving face first into a plate of something carby. I thawed out a roasted chicken and that's what I have been picking at all day. I ask my husband to bring me home a candy bar and he didn,t. I love that he knows me well enough to not give in to my moments weakness. He brought sugar free jello tubs instead.
