Default Getting thyroid tests soon and...

hi ladies (and possibly gentlemen)... i need some of your womanly wisdom.

i'm going to get some thyroid and possibly adrenal tests soon and i am wondering a few things. first, is it true you should fast 12 hours before the tests?

secondly... the adrenal test (4X salivary) is really expensive where i'm getting it, so i'm wondering if i should only get it later if i get symptoms of adrenal issues? my intuition is kind of split on whether or not i should get this adrenal test right away... part of me says yes, part of me says no. anyone have any intuition or factual opinion on what i should do?

i also am wondering about something else. i stopped low-carbing because i felt like it would make my throat stop hurting, and it has helped somewhat, but since doing so i have had intense lower back pain, which i think is due to magnesium depletion (which i am assuming shows up more when i eat carbs because carbs use magnesium up?) and stress on the adrenal glands. i'm just wondering if i should go back to my normal low carb eating before/if i get the test (perhaps a day before the 12 hour fast, if that fast is what you need to do)... because my lower back (and i assume adrenals) did not give me problems before eating more carbs again. i mean... i don't want to get recommended to take HC if i don't need it when i eat low carb. does that make sense? i'm not sure if this doctor is really knowledgeable about this issue. but, if i do go back to low carb a day before... plus have to fast... my throat might feel deathly. i'm not sure if this can be answered by anyone, but any thoughts would be appreciated.

You can get the 24 hours adrenal test through Canary Club for $100 (google for it).

Get your throat checked out. Continuous pain is NOT good. They should check for cancer and other things.

Hi Nancy, thanks for that. I am looking at it but unfortunately I don't think I can get it because I live in Canada. About my throat... I went to a doctor and she said I had nasal drip... what I have is definitely not nasal drip. It was a very sad moment.

edit- Actually I think I can get it here... but I can't find the single saliva test thing, they are all expensive bundles with other tests...
edit-- Oh I found it! Thanks!
