Default Hoodia side effects

I think I am feeling some side effects from the Hoodia. (Which works great, by the way) Before I spell them out, I just want to ask. Have any of you had ANY kind of side effects?

Maybe it is making my mouth feel dry/cottony, particularly during the night -- otherwise, no side effects.

Lanny,

I read both links, and all I can say is -- I've read a LOT about the available hoodia not being "real" and that this or that propuct is the only good one and etc., etc., etc. I guess that this is a fairly "new" product on the market, not subject to much control -- so who knows just what is in any particular brand???

I think that my "opinion" on hoodia is -- it is working for me (and believe me, I had tried any number of supplements, diet tweaks, etc. before trying the hoodia) -- today I'm down 16 pounds (144#! ) since I started it early January, haven't been at this weight for several years -- and I intend to continue with what works!

That said, I've ordered a bottle of the Desert Burn capsules but haven't started them yet -- if they work, I will continue with them -- if they don't, I'll go back to the hoodiahoodia.com (with their shipping/time problems!).

There's a website particularly devoted to users of Desert Burn Forum -- and reading this, it looks like some people are very happy with the product, and some are not seeing much effect -- it seems a very individual response to any particular formulation.

There are some people on this thread who are very happy with the Source Naturals 20:1 hoodia (which I also take along with the hoodiahoodia) -- and others who see no effect.

I think that if you suspect overeating/too many calories are a part of your weight problem, and if you're interested in trying the hoodia, then you shuold try a variety of brands/formulations until you find one that works for you.

Bottom line for me -- I weighed in this morning at 144 pounds, I'm wearing a pair of jeans that hadn't seen the light of day for a few years -- and the waist is standing away from my body!, and I see a real possibility of achieving my goal weight!

Lanny,

Your link goes to a site maintained by "The Hoodia Factor" -- this appears to be a privately-managed site as far as I can tell, and seems to be a marketing page for a few brands.

If it were run by Consumer Reports (for example) then I think it would state that.

When I first ordered the hoodia, I came to a website that advertised hoodiahoodia.com -- and of course, they claimed that their's was the "real" stuff -- and apparently it was, it's worked very well for me. However, I had so much problem getting my order that I bought some of the 20:1 extract from Source Naturals, then got the hoodiahoodia capsules (lots of emails, apologies, re-orders, etc. -- took perhaps 2 months to arrive???).

The link that you're pointing to could well be advertising some very effective formulations -- and please note that all of the above is simply my opinion!

BKM; what you are taking is a liquid?

I am also taking Source Naturals. I wonder if it just interacted with the beer I had that day.......LOL....I was like totally stoned!

No, I take a tablet (source natural) and a capsule (hoodiahoodia). And the Desert Burn looks like a capsule (but I've not broken the seal on the bottle yet).

Today I had my daughter and family, along with my son, visit us -- took them to a local Gem and Mineral show, then back to the house for a "fitting" (wedding dress) -- then we had an afternoon dinner of meatball soup (homemade, low-carb) with french bread and cheesecake (not low carb, bought for them).

I took my hoodia about 45 minutes before eating -- had a small bowl of soup with 1 slice of Eziekiel bread -- not another bite -- and I wasn't tempted for any of the extras! This stuff is great! And I was down a pound this morning!!!

I have joined the group and purchased a bottle of Hoodia (NOW brand).

I will let everyone know how it works for me.

Hi, The first message in this forum caught my attn and w/ the exception of "bumps on face" I've not seen any mention of other side effects from Hoodia. My google searches have come up blank too. I think I'm gassier than normal (sorry... but want to get others to share too!) but would like to hear if you have experienced any other side effects. I'm using TrimSpa w/ Hoodia and am not entirely convinced it's working, but I'm only on day 2. I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts. The only pages my searches (besides this) have come up with are the actual manufacturers sites bragging of no side effects. I want real people's reactions!! Many thanks!

You can go to Hgpills.com forum, they have a couple of people discussing side effects. Mine has just been the dry mouth, but thats about it.

Reduced appetite -- nothing more -- not even the increased energy that some report.

And I'm down to 142 pounds!!!!!!

Just a comment -- sometimes on the board there are threads about people outside the low-carb community making disparaging remarks about our WOE, etc. -- and of course, we all jump in and say "it's none of their business..." -- but when it comes to taking hoodia (or relacore or OoO or whatever) these same people jump in and tell us we shouldn't ..... Don't understand why it bothers some that we've looked outside of simply low-carbing (hey, for me it wasn't working completely, I was actually gaining weight) -- I for one am not pushing the hoodia on anyone, simply reporting my success with it. I do read anything posted (such as a link about studies), but ....

Just felt like venting -- enough said!
