Lanny,
I read both links, and all I can say is -- I've read a LOT about the available hoodia not being "real" and that this or that propuct is the only good one and etc., etc., etc. I guess that this is a fairly "new" product on the market, not subject to much control -- so who knows just what is in any particular brand???
I think that my "opinion" on hoodia is -- it is working for me (and believe me, I had tried any number of supplements, diet tweaks, etc. before trying the hoodia) -- today I'm down 16 pounds (
144#! ) since I started it early January, haven't been at this weight for several years -- and I intend to continue with what works!
That said, I've ordered a bottle of the Desert Burn capsules but haven't started them yet -- if they work, I will continue with them -- if they don't, I'll go back to the hoodiahoodia.com (with their shipping/time problems!).
There's a website particularly devoted to users of
Desert Burn Forum -- and reading this, it looks like some people are very happy with the product, and some are not seeing much effect -- it seems a very individual response to any particular formulation.
There are some people on this thread who are very happy with the Source Naturals 20:1 hoodia (which I also take along with the hoodiahoodia) -- and others who see no effect.
I think that if you suspect overeating/too many calories are a part of your weight problem, and if you're interested in trying the hoodia, then you shuold try a variety of brands/formulations until you find one that works for you.
Bottom line for me -- I weighed in this morning at 144 pounds, I'm wearing a pair of jeans that hadn't seen the light of day for a few years -- and the waist is standing away from my body!, and I see a real possibility of achieving my goal weight!
