Do cucumbers have a smell?? I have never noticed, but lately I have been eating "cuties"...they are mini cucumbers. Snack size in a zip lock bag, like the new mini color peppers. I take out one or two for a snack, dip them in something, return bag to veg drawer. No waste. I get them at Costco.

This is an old thread but fun to read.

I put butter on my meat after its cooked, grilled, etc. melts in there like gold. Wonderful melted flavor. Now I wish I had some escargot......yum

Have you heard of compound butters? Butter will absorb liquids, too. So you find your recipe and make a batch, roll in plastic wrap and freeze. Slice when needed to add to your cooked meat or whatever.

Here's a new idea.

Finely shredded roast beef, extra hot horseradish, salt, pepper and softened butter. Mix together as you would tuna salad.

At this point you can use a small cookie dough scoop and put little scoops on a parchment lined tray and refrigerate until cold. Delicious fat bomb!

Or.. you could refrigerate and use as a spread on keto crackers.

Great idea. I do something similar where I toss my homemade mixed-herbed butter with meat/poultry and salad greens and heat them just enough to wilt the salad. Add some parmesan and garlic for an Alfredo taste.

Before the first hard frost in Fall I chop up all of the fresh chives & garlic chives in my yard, mix with butter and store in several containers in the freezer to last me until the next Spring.

I've been a buttersnacker since before this thread was started and was thrilled to see I am not alone! One of my earlier posts was for people who attend conferences with carb-loaded coffee breaks; they often have real butter so I have a pat or two without the muffin/scone etc. to tide me over to lunch or dinner - like a sugar-free throat lozenge. And put butter in my coffee if the cream is <18% MF.

Now you've got me thinking of making up some cinnamon butter - like cinnamon toast without the toast.

Oooh! That sounds good! I'll give it a try.

I only snack on frozen butter - I love it. When it's room temperature, it's better on or in things.

Does Bulletproof coffee count as butter snacking? If so, I have a couple of pretty big chunks in my coffee twice per day...

I've almost bought it so many times, (Aldi even carries it now sometimes!), but every time I just can't because I wonder if it has a funky aftertaste? I bought some locally produced, grass fed butter from a nearby farm once and it tasted awful-it had this really weird aftertaste, almost like a body odor flavoring?? Their grass fed cheese was the same-they use raw milk and I think that's what I was tasting? It's a very popular place and I think they're even in Whole Foods now, so I'm thinking the aftertaste is normal?

Does Kerrygold have an aftertaste different than regular store brand butter?

I've been binge watching the youtube channel Keto Connection and they eat an insane amount of butter, (usually kerrygold), compared to what I'm used to, (we were actually using margarine regularly up until last month when I started lower carb). I'm trying to use more butter and wonder if it's time to try Kerrygold?

Funny how Kerrygold butter is such a big deal in the US. DD1 lives in England, but even though Kerrygold is Irish, she says that for some reason they don't see it much in England (maybe they're exporting most of it to the US).

Anyhow, one time she found some Kerrygold in the store and tried it... and said never again, because it wasn't nearly as good as the butter they produce in England, although she prefers French butters, which are readily available in England. (so far... who knows what will be available if/when Brexit goes through?)

I see Kerrygold regularly here, but haven't tried it yet. It's so much more expensive than the regular butter I buy that I can't see spending that much on something I'm afraid isn't going to be worth all that extra money, just based on DD1's opinion on it.

I really like the Kerrygold Dubliner cheese though, so maybe I'll give their butter a try eventually.
