Smile new to somersizing/atkins

Hi All!! I'm somewhat new to somersizing, (I just got the 'fast and easy' book yesterday, as well as my somersweet packets.) All I have to say is...wow, can it be any more confusing. Is there anyone out there that's been on this program for any length of time that has had success? Am I stupid, or was it confusing for you too? Please let me know!! Thanks

Default What is it you find confusing?

Some people get confused by the food combining part of the plan. Once you get the hang of it you'll find it becomes second nature.

First there is the low carb portion of the plan. Whole grain carbs only, no sugar, no caffeine, no alcohol.

Then there is the food combining part of the plan. You can have one of two kinds of meals, carbs or protein/fats. You can have veggies with either type of meal. Fruit should be eaten alone, on an empty stomach.

That is pretty much the whole plan right there.

Did I muddy the waters even worse for you?

i look forward to be as successful, and hopefully i can look to you for more questions, as i'm sure i will have them

Default I know what you mean.

There's a ton of great information in the books, but it's not always easy to find exactly what you're looking for lickety split. Sometimes you don't care to read a chatty novel to get to the bare bones of the thing! I just flipped straight to "the plan" and read that, then went back over the rest as I had time. Her examples of menus for a week helped me too. I still get frustrated though, because I know she's got something about this or that topic in one of her books, but there's no way to just look at the chapter names and tell where it is, and not everything shows up in the index either. Great books but poorly organized.

Don't worry though, if you get all her books for the sake of the recipes (and that's well worth doing) she repeats herself so often you're BOUND to get the jist of it eventually.

Good luck with this WOE. I am confident you'll have success with it. It seems like everyone I know who is on it does. My husband started on Easter and has lost 7 pounds so far, his parents and his Aunt and Uncle have all started recently and all lost at least 5 pounds within the first two weeks. I wish this was an Amway kinda thing, then I'd be RICH from all the people around me who've jumped on the wagon. LOL!
