Default I hate being fat!

What are some of the things YOU hate about being fat???

For me its:

*being crammed in the movie theater seat and the handles hurting my hips when I'm done watching the movie.

*not being able to pass that twirly thing located at the door of stadiums and arenas

*my thighs rubbing together

*struggling to put lotion on my legs

*feet hurting when I go to one store

*feet swelling

*sweating underneath the belly

*running out of breath walking from the parking lot to my job

*kids that point and yell "fat" remarks, even worse when their parents don't reprimand them

*not being able to fit in carnival rides

*clothes costing more because they used more material

*being labeled obese or morbidly obese (even the name is ugly)

*not being able to drive comfortably

You're on your way tho, Veronica, and on the right track. A little over a year ago, I hated all of those things, too. Plus more. The seatbelt extenders on airplanes. Being the fat mom. Having to shop in plus sizes. Looking at myself in pictures. Now I get to focus on the things that I love, instead. I still have a way to go to my ideal weight - but all of those things aren't major issues anymore for me. The first time I flew without a seatbelt extender (last June - to Disneyland - where I fit on every ride). Woot! It was wonderful. And just now, I get to shop in the normal size department. A whole new world of clothing options, let me tell you. This is the path you've set yourself on, too.

So, get ready, girl - because you're going to be ticking stuff off of your list! We're all behind you.

What I hate about being fat is embarrassment that I've allowed myself to regain all this weight when I was doing well. Not being social because of the embarrassment. Not feeling like exercising because I am tired all of the time. The example that I am giving my daughter, not a good one. My focus on food all of the time instead of feeling like a normal person. Waiting for the scales to go down before and so I can get my life back! Sacks for clothes, no curves. Cellulite and just about everything!!!

Some of the things that frustrate me are:

Not being able to easily tie my shoes
Not being able to hold my kids on my lap very well
Not being able to play sports with my friends
Not being able to buy clothes that fit
Not being able to have energy throughout the day
Not being able to fit through the people-counter-thingys at public events
Not being able to sit close enough to things (desk, table, etc)
Not being able to fold down the airplane table in front of me
Not being able to walk without my back hurting
Not being able to lay on my stomach comfortably
Not being able to sit on the floor without sprawling all over
Not being able to do things with my kids because I am too big

I am tired of being so limited. It's time to make a change and it IS going to happen.

There ya are -- you covered everything about being really overweight.

Kyrasdad has commented several times that it is harder to live life as a fat person than it is to lose weight. I so agree with that.

It is amazing how quickly it all changes as the pounds come off though - that is the real motivation - the little things like crossing your legs again for the first time....what are the things that you are regaining as you are losing the weight? Anyone?

All of the above, plus 42 years old and still single, no kids, no family of my own. Women are not attracted to 400 pound men. Thank god for pets. They do not judge you for how your body looks.

I live on Long Island and Manhattan is just a train ride away. My family goes to alot events there and my sister has an apt there-Yet I have never gone into the City in over 25 yrs because I was afraid I wouldnt fit through the train turnstyle. Had free tixs to see Madonna at Madison Sq. Garden- didnt go, etc.
Well I just bought tix to see Billy Joel at Shea stadium in July- going to
take the train- this is a big milestone in my ongoing weight-loss adventure.
I'll get through that dam twirly thing no matter what!

My arms are so fat that I have a hard time wearing t-shirts. I am bigger-but good god they are huge.

I also hate how I have allowed myself to become so embarrased of me that I rarely look strangers in the eye. I used to be a social butterfly-bartended even though I was bigger and the guys liked me. (At least the tip jar was always full.) Now I just want to disappear into the wallpaper.

No dates because men are not attracted to a 400 pound woman.
Not being able to fit into a decent swimsuit or clothes I would love to wear.

The one thing I hate about being fat is that it controls my life. It controls what I do and don't do. It controls how I act.

I hate feeling ashamed all the time. I hate feeling guilty. I hate that I hate myself for being fat.

I hate that it took me so long to figure out that this WOE could solve so many of my woes. I regret the time I wasted trying low fat, low cal plans only to disappoint myself over and over again. I felt like a total failure.

Now I feel like I'm in control for the first time in my life and that I'm finally succeeding. It is possible to lose weight! It is possible to feel better just by changing what we eat! All of you who are early on in your journey will find this to be true very soon, too.

And like nowhammies, I love being able to cross my legs :-)

I hate that people see only my fat -- not anything that makes me who I am.

That's all people see because if they accidentally look at me, their gaze slides right off me and POOF! I disappear.

What was I thinking, showing up in public all fat and stuff?
