Default Substitute for cashews

I just made a wonderful Butter Chicken recipe (from Curries without Worries), but I stupidly didn't check the carb count on cashews before I ground up 1/2 cup of them (22.7 g) and threw them in. It wasn't too bad divided by five, but I'd like to substitute something else next time. Almonds seem too mild. Do you think that pine nuts or macadamias (or a combination) would work?

Almonds would be fine. When nuts are ground and used in sauces, it's for their thickening power. They don't really contribute that much flavour.

Thanks, Karen. I'll play around with it a bit and post it. It's flavoured with cumin, coriander, cayenne, and cardamom and reminds me a bit of your coconut milk curry.
