Smile shaking my head

While I appreciate the gesture my co worker keeps offering me a coughdrop. I told her i would rather choke then ingest that sugar. She's trying to argue with me that everybody needs a little sugar.

Is this in the same category as the waiters who smile indulgently when my husband orders dessert, and I say "no thanks, just coffee", and then they bring dessert with two spoons, and look at me knowingly "wink, wink, nudge, nudge"? "Obviously" the dessert is for me, being female, and probably hormonal, and my DH is just playing along. While actually, I have never been a huge dessert fan, even before lo-carb. And DH has a large and insatiable sweet tooth that I consider one of his most unattractive features.

Nobody needs sugar, but why does your co worker keep offering you cough drops? Is all your coughing interrupting her work? LOL

There are sugarfree cough drops out there. Helps with the throat irritation sometimes.

Tell her the only sugar you need is from your significant other. My mother used to tell me everyone needed a little sugar. I told her that, and she never said it again.
