Default Extreme Paleo: a new theory links...

Naturally I was attracted to this headline in the June 2016 issue of Smithsonian Magazine. The complete head and subhead read:

Extreme Paleo
A new theory links the Neanderthals' fate to their meat-heavy diet

Oh great, I'm thinking. Another assault on LC from the veggie-eaters.

But wait! There's more!

The article actually goes on to explain a theory that it was the consumption of LEAN meat, the protein-heavy menu of cold climate Neandethals eating winter-starved animals that led to unfavorable physical adaptations. So. It wasn't the eating of meat but the absence of fat that eventually done 'em in. Why didn't you say so upfront??

You want the rib-eye or the duck for dinner?
