Default Doubling or Tripling a recipe

Karen,

What are some gotchas or things to look out for when doubling a recipe? I have heard you never double the amount of salt but I don't know if that is true or not.

Yes, salt, spices and liquid. There's no formula though, you just have to use your own best judgement.

It doesn't hold true for baking though, just cooking.
