Default A question about SS

My dd - has been doing SS now for over two weeks.... she done a fantastic job.... no cheats (which I could say the same!!!) I mean it. Drinking water, exercising and staying the WOL.

She lost some weight right away - about 8 lbs. Now, for some reason, she has not lost anything for about 10 days. Is this normal on this WOL? I am trying to give her all the support -
but she asks me why this is happening.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

ATM

Default I'm pretty new at this

But if she's exercising quite a bit, could she be losing inches and not pounds? is she measuring herself? Muscle weighs more than fat, so it's possible to actually gain weight while losing fat if you are building muscle at the same time.

Secondly, is she eating very many sweets? I was eating one or two sweets (not fruit, but Somersweet truffles and Suzanne's desert recipes) every day and stalled for a week or so. Some people can get away with more than others.

Lastly, if none of these other things account for her stall, she might try cutting back on the number of carb and fuit meals she has for awhile. Also, she can think about which fruits she is eating. Applejuice has way more sugar in it than an equivalent amount of orange juice etc. And how big her carb meals are. Maybe different fruits and smaller portions of carbs woud help.

Of course it could be her body just needs to catch up a little, metabolism wise, because she lost some pounds. My impression from reading around here is that it's not uncommon to lose weight, then stall, then lose weight, then stall... I think that is particularly true if you have less weight to lose. I have no idea how much she needs to lose, but it seems to me that proportionally, if you are relatively small to begin with then it doesn't take much weight loss to be a big proportion of your total weight and startle yoru body into readjusting its metabolism.
