Default old lady, starts again

I'm back again. at the old site I was Chris 232 now I'm at 250. I want to lose weight, give myself something to think about besides my very ill husband. If I am not on program I know I would just eat and eat and eat. I am telling myself the first goal is to be successful for 6 months. In the middle of that time is our vacation for 6 weeks to Florida, if my husband is well enough to go. We shall see what happens in late December.
I weigh daily and am a Christian.
I have always enjoyed chatting with the people here about my life and weight, and hope to make new connections.

Welcome to the forum -- a happy place
6 months is a nice timeline, you can do it -- I find it very doable too hehe
I hope to see you around the board

Welcome!
Being on plan helps me be a better parent and support to my sick daughter. I stay calmer, sleep better, and know I can eat to comfort myself if i need to...just on plan. Yummy pork steaks and homemade Cesar salad is a favourite. And bacon, of course.
Good Luck to you. Take care of yourself too.

I'm glad you are figuring it out now to go back to LC. While my husband-and then dad-were dying, I gained 20 pounds. It's so very easy to try to keep yourself going when sleep deprived and stressed by eating a bunch of easy to grab junk. Then came settling my husband's affairs, selling a house and etc. There is always something to prevent putting your own health first. Good for you for being proactive.

Welcome , Chris,
Hope that you find a new home here and enjoy the sub-forum topics. There are some good tips for any LCers who are doing this "the Second Time Around" at this post: https://forum.lowcarber.org/showpos...6&postcount=163
There is a separate ATkins forum, https://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=98. But also good information in General LC https://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=1. And you can start a journal, a good place to chat with friends.
All the best,

Thanks for all your encouragement. I am blessed as my husband is recovering well. Time to knuckle down and be serious about losing weight.
