For me, The problem with getting my potassium from meat is that I love all my meat with salt. It would be unthinkable to eat a pork chop without salt. And of course, salt ups a body's need for potassium. To me, salt substitutes have a bitter flavor that I really don't care for. However, on beef, I'm able to do a first coat of salt substitute and then follow that with a once over with my pink sea salt grinder, and I find the substitute doesn't change the taste much, but chicken doesn't have enough flavor for me, so I just use salt and follow my meal with 6 or 7 potassium pills.

Haven't tried pork chops since I discovered my potassium needs, so I don't know if I can do my double dose trick and not compromise flavor too much.

Looked for Morton's "Lite Salt" today to put a little in my coffee or hot cocoa -- I have the KCL "Salt Substitute" already to put in my electrolyte drink. It's somewhat bitter straight up though.
Was really surprised they had none! They have over-stocked every other kind of regular or premium salts imaginable, from all over the World

Mike,It seems like I too looked for the Morton Lite before and didn't find it. Then it fell off of my radar..

Tess, For me with chicken, the flavor is all in the fat and bone. I just love a nice pan of baked chicken thighs with crispy skin.
Lots of people actually save the excess chicken fat to cook veggies in.

OK, Walmart did not have Morton Lite Salt but I found French's No Salt - 2,560mg potassium per teaspoon - be careful - don't OD!

EDIT: Actually it's no laughing matter - some folks do really need to take care:

I have also been taking a vitamin supplement, Centrum 50.

I expect one could make "Lite Salt" by mixing 50% Salt Substitute with Iodized table Salt KCl + NaCl+KI ?

Mixing your own 50/50 NoSalt/tablesalt is cheaper than buying it pre-mixed, and you have the option of using sea salt or Himalayan salt instead of table salt for the Na-salt. Also, for seafood that already has a lot of sodium in it, I just add K-salt.
