Funny - tomorrow will be 16 months since I've started Atkins and there is one more thing I'd like to add to this thread. Lately I have seen many people who take and post progress pictures. I LOVE to see those! Pictures don't lie
My advice is - take pictures. Don't let the scale bring you down. You will be amazed how little weight you need to lose to see a great difference in your appearance.

Example.....

The first picture was taken in September 2003, the second just some weeks ago. The difference in weight is about 6 lbs only which isn't much for me - I'm tall and strongly built.

The difference in sizes on the other hand - the black top is now XS instead of L and jeans are three sizes smaller!

Now losing 'only' 6 lbs between September 2003 and now could be considered slow and could, sadly, be a cause of frustration. Not so! The pictures and the clothes show the real difference.

Are you with me?

Fabulous pics - and it does go to show that the scales DO lie (I just wish I could get my brain to go along with that ).

Fantastic point, Alina!

For instance, I haven't lost a pound according to the scale. Yet in pictures I swear I look slimmer.

And I may be....

All excellent advice. My only addition is that anything you are going to do for the rest of your life (WOL) is something you want to learn, read, be informed. Always learn about Low-Carb through the boards, the books, his website, so you can be informed and not be vulnerable to the inaccuracies you see in magazine articles, the internet and from news sources.

Atkins WORKS, low-fat, low-calorie does NOT work for 98% of the population. Atkins works if you do it the way he wanted you to do it. Read, learn, be informed............
