Default Quit Dec 12th

I must have been insane to try to quit 2 weeks before Christmas. But guess what, I did it, cold turkey.

Cancer on my moms side.....Heart Disease on my dads side. It's stacked up against me from both directions.

I finally had my last cig when my mom informed me that her dad, his brother and his sister (all of which I have never met, so it doesn't effect me like that) all have lung cancer.

Today is day 31 for me, some days it's hard...others not too bad.

I have managed to gain 15 pounds. So now it's time to focus on low carb again.

It's a tough one, that's for sure. But with your family history against you, you've made a wonderful and smart decision. Now that you're over a month without smoking, you sense of taste should be improving. LC and the highly flavored foods we can eat while LCing could make losing those pounds a lot easier. You'll be adding years - and maybe - decades to your life.

It does my heart good to hear that you have quit smoking. Keep it up.

I only wish my sister would quit!
