I've lost 14.2 pounds in 2 weeks. Is this normal?

It can be in the beginning. Don't get discouraged when the weight loss slows down or stalls, that's normal as well.

It has been reported is normal - also as abnormal. Also normal and abnormal is weight going back up, then down , then up then staying the same, then down.... My "normal" example below from starting low carb (measured each week)...

relax and wait and see what happens next. Acceptance of what is happening is key - don't try to control it - you may find that frustrating

Weight loss is one of the more common side effects of a low carb diet.

Funny and brilliantly put. Chrissy, all kidding aside, what has happened to your weight is perfectly normal, at least in my, and some others experiences on this board, journey.

Peace!

I had the same experience as Thud. I lost 13 pounds initially, in the first few weeks, but then quickly regained 4-5 pounds. That must have been water. But here I am, a month or so later, solidly down 13 pounds from my starting weight. So it's true, the scale may fluctuate up and down; all or only part of those initial 14 pounds may stay off in the short term. I've heard the phrase "fits and spurts" to describe the weight loss experience. I couldn't describe it better.

My weight always fluctuates. I have congestive heart failure. Yes my sr said this was ok to follow. Having that I should not eat the salt that I eat. I just can't help it. Lol. So, I weigh everyday. Even thought I do fluctuate, generally I see the scale going down. That makes me happy!

Crazy thing. I was cooking my wife some spaghetti. I took a spoonful
If just the sauce. It was so sweet. I could taste all that sugar. Yuk!!

Thanks.

Yes, your palate changes after a while - you can really taste that sugar! Sounds like you're on a good track and that you can see it, and that it makes you happy, as it should!

After a year of low carb, my taste buds are still changing. Cravings are much less now. Had some popcorn at the movies the other day. It tasted terrible..... I used to love movie popcorn. Carb addiction is letting up which is a good thing.😁

I had some cream with blackberries. It was delicious. I still think it stalls my weight. Any fruit. How much should I have lost at this point. What do y'all keep your carb levels to to keep losing?

Me too. It's hard to resist the fresh berries. As long as I stick to 1/4 cup it doesn't affect my bg, but more than that causes problems. Don't know how that would affect my weight as I usually weigh just once a week.

I'm still figuring things out, but so far <50 g (total, not net) is working for me. I did 55-60 g for a couple of weeks and stalled/gained slightly.
