Hi All,

Busy with grands today...have about 2 more hours with them today and then another full day tomorrow. We've been keeping them busy. DGD put herself down for a nap. I could use one too, but that will have to wait.

I brought one of my pups back over to their house for my last couple of hours of babysitting. They just love her & think she's so cute! We've been back and forth between my house and theirs.

Just a quick pop in as I have to get back to the grands....

Will catch up in a bit with ya'll!!
There YOU are!

That's so nice that your Mom is staying for T-day. You are so lucky to still have her around! I envy you that for sure! Hey isn't your MIL coming too? Does she stay as well?

I remember the "messy" 12 yo...well, "messy" teen-age years...

Gosh, I'd have to keep their bedroom doors closed so I wouldn't get anxiety attacks about how they kept their rooms!

Funny b/c they grow out of it and are as anal as I am about cleaning!

It's an illness ~ at least that's what my ex husband told me, he was such a slob and still is!!!

I didn't know I could pass that kinda sickness on to my kids!

Wow your DGD must have been tuckered out to have put herself down for a nap... too bad you couldn't get the DGS to go down as well so you could've caught a few ZZZZzzzs yourself!

So you guys don't live too far away from each other, how cool!

Bernie, wow that medical stuff is rough! Dealing with medical is just rotten and I hope everything pans out ok!! And still waiting on approval for the MRI test? crazy, I mean ya need it ya need it, should be approved immediately. I tell ya!! Don't get me going here! Your hands are full Bernie and I hope you are doing A-OK!!

DE you sound slap busy with grands. Puppies are a great distraction for sure Bring a puppy here for me please I am never a nap person, but I noticed lately my mind is kinda saying NAP and I am ignoring but something tells me as a few more years go by I might easily become a nap person!

JO, you had me laughing!! Anxiety attacks over seeing their rooms!! Too funny but I know exactly what you mean.

MIL lives like 5 miles down the road from us. She just comes and goes. My Mom is like a 45 min. drive and since older now at 89 she is not getting out of the house a ton, sure, she hits a food store or the dollar store but she tires very fast so I like to bring her here for like 2-3-4 days just for a change. You know, that 'limited lifestyle' now so trying to shake it up a bit. So Tday is a great time for her to get a change of scenery. I said Wed-Sat and she said NO, she wants Wed-Friday LOL We shall see.

I read what you mentioned about retirement. You are starting to think what you want, how you want it all to go down, you are concerned about Chico and hey, take your time. Do it all as you want it to be done Beauty of life is we can do it all as we want to do it On our own timeline. I hear ya!!

HI GUYS
finishing up some small chores
getting Mom around 12 today
Tony is sleeping and kiddo is sleeping. I want to make noise and get some things done and I feel like I need to be quiet but I want to make a racket HA

have a great day everyone! Prep day for Tday

Hello warriors,

How is everyone doing today?

I have been at the hospital since 12. They are trying to reduce the potassium level of DSS. They are doing glucose water to flush out.
Hoping he will be able to go home tonight.

Don’t want him in for thanksgiving!

De... great fun with the grands!
Karen... DS has MRI next Wednesday got approval yesterday!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and take care of yourself!

Do they know why his potassium levels got so high??

Hope it has NOTHING to do with his kidneys...

Hello dear warriors,

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁!

DSS is finally home. They didn’t tell us potassium level but indicated we are out of danger zone!

Today is DD BDAY! My turkey is 35!

Jo... they think DSS level went so high because of blood pressure medicine. He was on two one had potassium in it. But BP and pulse are very low now. So they took him off BP medicine with potassium and reduce dosage of the other med. he does have to see a kidney specialist because cretin level is also out of range. Can’t get in till Dec 20. Lordy between insurance delays and doctor schedules getting timely care is tough! Still better than in other countries!
Jo have a wonderful celebration with your family!

Karen.... So glad you have you mom with you! Enjoy Thanksgiving day with family! Ps I like Jo want to be like your mom
At her age!

De.... Have a terrific Thanksgiving Day!

Have a terrific Thursday warriors and a wonderful Thanksgiving day!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!

ENJOY YOUR DAY!!!

Jo, that will be the factor in retirement for you. One day you wake up and say I am done with the BS of this job and you know....know point blank it is time. But if things are good and you are happy, you rock on! Nice thing is you know you can drop the work anytime you want, so the pressure is off for you at this point. which is always a nice thing.

Yea Mom is walking very well. With 2 broken hips within 2 years and she has metal rods in both....she got over it very well. Only relies on a cane a bit now. She is only on one small BP pill and nothing else. When she gets bloodwork the Dr. always says she has the bloodwork of someone who is 30 and wishes her bloodwork was that good HA No joke, I hope I go into this old age like her cause she actually has good health.

I am sure your turkey will be fab today!!

Bernie, wow, you are so right about 'timely' in health care. It is crazy the wait time for an appt and getting things approved.
So happy he is out of the hosp. and sent home in ok fashion right now.

Wishing you guys a super relaxing easy and fun Tday!!!

Very cool your 'little turkey' is 35

DE, you have a blast today and enjoy the family and your delish turkey!!

HEY GUYS
I am doing a giant roaster chicken. (no one is a turkey fan really here)

giant pile cold peel eat shrimp

some limited sides for table for everyone. No one here wants alot of food so that is a nice thing

very simple day here. weather bit icky, cloudy and seems like storms coming, have to check to see what we are in for.

absolutely no shopping over these days for this old gal. Not going out and about out in any crowd ain't no way HAHA

wonderful day to everyone!!

Counting my blessings today.

It's a good day to spend with family. I am taking things I can eat to share with all and also enjoy the turkey they are providing.

The last two days were super busy taking care of the grands, I got home pretty late yesterday, I like eating earlier, so eating that late is not my preference for sure. Both my son and daughter-in-law had to put in extra hours at work, good thing for them I am around to help out!

Everyone have a great day with your families!

T-day food with the vegans (my 2 girls and my adorable SIL) was interesting. I wasn't the least bit interested in their vegan feast. I had my turkey and a lovely leafy green salad!

I helped them make a sweet potato casserole recipe that one of my dds brought along with tons of ingredients that I haven't had in my house EVER! It came out more like a sweet potato pie with all the brown sugar, maple syrup, almond flour etc...

No worries, I didn't eat any and wasn't even tempted. But it did smell wonderful! They had vegan sausages with it!

OMG the ingredient list was very interesting on those vegan sausages:
Filtered Water, Vital Wheat Gluten, Expeller Pressed Safflower Oil, Unsulfured Dried Apples, Yukon Gold Potatoes, Yeast Extract, Onion Powder, Barley Malt, Garlic, Natural Hickory Smoke Flavor with Torula Yeast, Spices, Sea Salt and Rubbed Sage.

16 g carb per sausage and 220 kcal!

I was a little bit shocked how PROCESSED that food was... maybe I was assuming veganism = closer to nature... IDK???

Karen.... Hope you are having a great time with your mom
And family! Holidays always remind me of my luv ones lost and I do cherish all the great times we had!

De.... Hope your T Day was fantastic with family! Stop by when you have a chance!

HI GUYS
sounds like everyone got thru the turkey day in fine fashion

and we all probably agree to say glad it is over HA
and onward to Christmas holiday season now.

Older now and I just don't have the zing for holidays as much anymore. The thrill is just not like it was, which is cool, I am done with it ......so I say, let me get thru this Xmas season fast, chuck this winter aside and get my butt back into early spring now.

I have to buy a coat. Like, a real one . My winter heavier type jacket I ripped on some barbed wire down at the barn and it slashed it good enough where it is now my 'official' barn coat and need a new one now for when we hit the beach the day after Xmas. So will hit Sears next week. Sears has TONS of coats that I like so will go there and get this stupid coat chore done.

Winter and beach always means COLD BIG WINDS so I have to have something and we are doing night time new year's eve fireworks at Broadway on the Beach so a real jacket and gloves are needed, heck I gotta buy gloves I guess now also HA

nothing big here happening here today I like that tho!

great day all

Good Morning Gang,

It's a beautiful day out! It's a lovely time of year here. We are over the heat, but it's not too cold yet.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. I didn't have to cook. I just prepared a salad and took the package of salami that the host requested. Fun family time when I'm not in charge of the kids. They still come to me with "can I do this or that" and I send them to their parents to ask. My DGD did ask for her nails to be painted so I did that with her Mom's permission.

Christmas is just around the corner now. I will be doing some online shopping and a little store shopping. Not yesterday though, made sure to not leave the house on Black Friday!

Bernie, have a fun sleepover and relaxing time after they go home

Karen, looks like you are ready to get winter over with! Happy coat shopping!

Jo, I'm glad you're having some family time with daughters and SIL. I have noticed Vegans and Vegetarians don't always eat a lot of veggies! Some of the carbs they consume are not so healthy (JMHO)... been there done that and it didn't work for me & I felt awful. Guess it works for some.

Have a great weekend!

HI GUYS

DE, nothing like a Tday where you don't have to cook You graduated into the 'no stress' Tday special LOL Cool!

So happy you guys are doing so well! Any new thoughts on retirement strategy for ya?

nothing dramatic here
simple day
off to store for a few things kiddo wants, CVS or such, she is wanting some face/lotions kinda things. Will get ONLY a few and hold her tight in the spending reins (12 now and wanting all the products to make her perfect kinda age now I guess?) but will not get alot cause when she looks and I see what she is aiming at, I can go back and get a basket full of crap for her and put it as a Xmas present

Sunny and nice day but still Brrr but almost 65 today so that is sweet.

MIL to ER yesterday for chest. For over 4 days we have been saying GO now if you aren't breathing well and she finally called hubby yesterday to go...ugh...lucky it is only that and not the pneumonia thing. She has bronchitis. On meds now. Hubby said she should be fine. MIL is failing in alot of ways....gonna be 75 next may but has the diabetes and more things going down on her. Not big things but ALL that COMBO of failing things happening. Hmmm, but it is what it is and we will work thru it all. AND MY MOM is 89 and doing fab! Crazy how life goes down for everyone!

Doing good and just cruising thru today. 10:30 and STILL waiting on kiddo to wake....omg to be young and snooze with no responsibility.....those where the days my friend, I thought they'd never end....but they sure do HA

everyone have a fine day!! Warrior style, it is the only way for some of us and it works and we hold strong and we know it is what works best in our life!

Happy Day, Warriors!

Hope all is well and wishing you a totally spectacular day in every way possible!

Stay WARRIOR Strong!

Onward and DOWNWARD, WARRIORS! We've GOT THIS! Woot! Woot!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

It was so much fun with my DDs and the days went by too quickly! Was really hard to see them off early this morning!

My eldest DD & SIL brought down their Minnie Winnebago since they didn't have anyone to watch my grand furbabies and I don't have room for 5 big dogs plus 3 adults... this is exactly what it looks like ~ paint and all! They wanted a blue one to match their blue F150:

http://www.trailerlife.com/wp-conte...go-Minnie-1.jpg

I think it looks sharp! They have a queen size bed in theirs as well as two other pieces of furniture that turn into beds...

The inside is incredible too! Here's another online picture I found:

https://www.interactcp.com/blog/moo...16/02/img-1.jpg

They found a KOA exactly 1.4 miles from my house to park it and it cost them $22 a night. My youngest dd and her pup (a 6 month old German Sheppard mix) stayed with me and we walked to the KOA each morning to visit my DD, SIL and the 4 other furbabies... then we'd all walk back to my house to spend the day... We played a lot of board games ~ one of our favorite things to do all together!

As for "eats"... It was quite the experience with them being vegans. They don't eat out much any more since there's not a lot of strictly vegan places around. And of course, NONE in my lil' burg!

My DDs said there are several nice vegan restaurants in Phnx they go to occasionally.

We have a health food store in town that I never visit, but we made a run there yesterday to check it out. It's like 3 mins from my house! They were very impressed with the selection of vegan items since we're such a small town...

Anyhoo... Doing the w/e chores today and will just chil-lax tomorrow since I need a vaca from my vaca!

Holy Hannah, the days are flyin' by!

I can't believe that we will close out November this coming Friday and we only have 17 school days until Winter Break and the end of semester 1! WOW!

When I attempted vegan eating to lose weight before this wol I would gain to many carbs and soy. The soy just killed my thyroid! Plus I was always hungry looking for my next meal and my portions were gigantic!
The "always hungry" thingy is due to us having a carb metabolic processing disorder, don't you think? Of course eating carbs makes us super hungry as we all know!

Both my DDs & SIL say they have lost some weight going vegan. My SIL was a very healthy eater before and he says he lost almost 20 lbs since going vegan. Not that I thought he ever needed to lose weight, KWIM???

Older now and I just don't have the zing for holidays as much anymore. The thrill is just not like it was, which is cool, I am done with it ......so I say, let me get thru this Xmas season fast, chuck this winter aside and get my butt back into early spring now.
I hear ya, Karen!

My youngest wanted to help me set up my Christmas tree etc, I told her fine as long as she comes down to pack it all back up b/c I ain't draggin' it out for her sole amusement... I ain't in the mood for it.

I think b/c every year the stores "start" Christmas way too flippin' early, IMHO and Imma so sick of the commercialism of it all.

Hope you find the perfect coat!

I know you'll have a terrific time at the beach for the holidays!

Imma glad they helped your MIL with her bronchitis... yeah sounds like your MIL is not in the best of health and NOTHING compared to your mum.

Like I've said before and I'll continue to say... I wanna be as healthy as your mum when Imma about to turn 90 yo!

Same here... we were out running around in sleeve-less tops. So unlike our usual weather this time of year. Heard we're getting a cold front later this week...

Sounds like you had an easy T-day preparation-wise!

That's too funny that your grands will come to you to ask permission to do things even when their 'rents are around... but I guess they are so used to you being in charge!

Sweet that you painted your DGD's nails!

Christmas is just around the corner now. I will be doing some online shopping and a little store shopping. Not yesterday though, made sure to not leave the house on Black Friday!
If we're NOT out Black Friday shopping, who is???

Jo, I'm glad you're having some family time with daughters and SIL. I have noticed Vegans and Vegetarians don't always eat a lot of veggies! Some of the carbs they consume are not so healthy (JMHO)... been there done that and it didn't work for me & I felt awful. Guess it works for some.
I was thinking the same thing about "wouldn't they be eating way more veggies?" and I had no idea about all the processed foods they eat... In any case, we don't discriminate against WOE plans in my fam, KWIM???
