Hi everyone , i have decided to switch to CAD tomorrow , however i am a bit confused about the RM .... what exactly is 1/3 . How do i measure that . do i split my total calories in 3 i.e do you decide to eat 900 cals for my RM dinner , and then eat 300cals protein , 300cals veggies and 300cals carbs .... I am really confused, and would appreciate your help.
The book says to take a portion (as described) and fill your plate with one portion of each thing. i.e. 1/3 of your plate should have carb, 1/3 veggie, 1/3 meat or protein. If you go back take alittle of ea thing not just carbs...if you take a second helping of protein then you don't have to worry about balancing the seconds...It is so that you do not have a carb heavy meal. That can cause cravings and water retention in some people. Many of us have found we can lose on carb heavy rm's but it isn't as fast and sometimes we can have cravings etc.
You can go to a members journal and check out menus. I haven't posted one for awhile but some of the others have and they can give you some ideas.

That's right...
CAD specifically states that you don't have to measure or count calories or grams of anything. You go by visual portion size. If you divide your dinner plate into three..1/3 should be full of protein, 1/3 of CM approved LC veggies, and 1/3 with carb foods. That is the ideal.
hi Isival-
good answers. Just a heads up- there are not enough of us on this forum and it is slow. I think most of the members on this site do Atkins- a very busy forum. Not answering you in 2 hours does not mean we don't care or won't answer- this is just the way this forum is. So please have some patience with us (LOL)!
