What I'd like to see is all the animal-based industries get a great deal more focus for humane conditions and good feeding. At this point I feel like the cheap meat and hormone and carageenan-filled dairy and GMO fertilizer pesticide produce which are what I can get at walmart (and if you live near a walmart you know that once it's there, there won't be much else around for long as an option), probably does my liver as much detox work as a box of crappy mac&cheese.
The vegan 'political agenda' gets a great deal of leverage from what are genuinely problem situations in the major animal-food industries. If beef meant happy cows grazing and then a Temple Grandin ending, a lot fewer people would feel the need to see those industries as evil.
