Smile It's been 3 weeks since I've started CALP ....

It's been 3 weeks since I've started CALP and I have lost 4.7 lbs. Actually this figure is in fact conservative as I subtracted the average of the 3rd week from the average of the 1st week. (196.3 - 191.6) I believe my weight was around 198 lbs when I actually started, so loss was 6.4 lbs.

I would say some of it in the first 2 weeks is definitely water loss, but at end of 3 weeks my waist has dropped 1.5 inches, yah !

I have added the Chromium GTF option after 2 weeks and also added a bit of exercise (brisk walking) to the routine.
I try to walk quickly wherever I go. I also read that resistance training with weights is very good at burning fat but I have not gone into it yet.

I have also read Atkin's New Diet Revolution book and it recommends supplimenting with multi-vitamins and EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids). From what I've read on the Net, One good source of this is flax oil. I believe a lot of us are deficent in Omega-3 oils, taking more or Omega-6 and 9 oils in our diet. A better oil which I chose is Udo's Choice Blend, a oil with a proper ratio of Omega 3 and 6 oils which is recommended in many sites. In Singapore, it is available in GNC stores. I've just started taking 2 tablespoons a day so I can't report on its efficacy but I heard it is very good. I have not bought mult-vitamins as i am still shopping for the right one. Anybody can recommend a good one ?

I am very encouraged by my progress and am happy to say I do not have hunger pangs. I also have most of my reward meals during lunch as it is harder for me to find a controlled carb meal when I am eating outside. (Best I've found so far is Yong Tau Foo soup, Bak Ku Teh or herbal soups like pork ribs with watercress)

BTW, I am an asian guy who decided to get healthy as I was putting on too much weight and everybody around me was saying so too.

My goal weight is 176 lbs. I am very confident of this new way of life will lead me to my desired goal weight.

Hi Rain,

Nice to hear a response, how long have you been at it ?
Hope you are doing well in the program.

I'm past 4 weeks and lost another 3.1 lbs. 2 inches off my waistline.

On my 4th week, I worked out twice in the gym and jogged on one of the days.

Why did I add exercise ? Well I felt losing the weight was good, but it made my face a little "shriveled" looking. I read if you just dieted, you would lose fat surrounding your vital organs, but if you exercised you would lose fat around the skin, making you look better. Already I'm feeling better after just a few workouts.

So for those couch potatoes out there, add exercise as one of your options, you won't regret it. You will definitely feel better.

Also psych yourself up on the benefits. Visualize looking better and how all your friends admire your new look will do wonders to your mindset.

As for supplements, I'm now taking:
GNC Mega Men (Multi-Vits)
Flax Oil
Udo's Choice Oil
Calcium 1000 mg.
Chromium GTF

Don't forget to drink water: At least 6-8 cups a day.
