It's a dry sense of humour, Bez. I get the greatest enjoyment out of subtlety and oblique humour. If no-one else gets the joke, I don't stop to explain it, just press right on with the next thing. If the other party laughs, or responds, it's great. Rachel (rmines) feels that British people generally have a gift for wordplay, amounting to repartee reaching the state of an art-form at times. One of the funniest times I've had on this forum (and one of the most exciting) was in the "Lighter side" forum, on the thread about female oil-wrestling. This was started by Wa'il, and I happened to notice it and make some remark about how he'd managed to spot the original reference. As it was just about the time when these symbols were being attached to our names to indicate how many postings we'd made, I added a comment about Wa'il giving Doreen and Rachel a "load of chops". During the next hour or two, as I worked at the keyboard on e-mails and posts, a succession of further posts followed, so that it was almost like being in a Chat Room. It's difficult to describe now, but there was an electric buzz to it all. You never knew who would post next or what they were going to say, but there had to be some witty response. Great fun, and quite spontaneous.
