Default Another name for haloumi cheese?

Hi Karen,

I was stymied when I tried to enter haloumi cheese into Fitday. All Google said was that you could spell it "halloumi" - but Fitday didn't recognize that either.

So I wondered if you in your very great wisdom knew of another name? It's obviously not a major problem. I assume it wouldn't be too different from other cheeses (apart from the saltiness).

Cheers.

Roz

Hmm. Does fitday have Pecorino or Romano or any other hard sheep's milk cheese? That's what I would use to get a nutrition count.

I've seen it in the Real Canadian Superstore here (believe it or not) as 'haloom' ... it's darn phonetic in translation.

I eventually found the nutritional info on www.dietclub.com.au and entered it as a custom food.
Should have thought of that before pestering you.

And no, Judi, I had already tried "hal" on Fitday, but thanks anyway.

Never thought of checking the dietclub database...duh! Thanks for the friendly reminder, Roz, I'm going to port it into my MasterCook now...
