I've been buying almond flour (along with pecan, walnut, macadamia, and cashew flours) at nuts4u.com for a long time and have been very happy. They even have a fine almond flour that is great for cakes and pies; I even made delicious marzipan with it.
I have also bought almond flour from truefoodsmarket.com and was pleased with their products as well.
What most people refer to as almond flour is actually ground almonds so most natural foods, bulk stores and grocery stores will carry it. It can be ground finer by giving it a little buzz in a coffee grinder.
Are all carbs equally 'bad' (for lack of a better word ) ? I know that white flour, sugar, processed foods, etc are all no-no's. But.... what about the carbs that come from vegetables, fruit, and dairy ?
Thank you so much for telling me, the one who has all the shortcuts!!! a lesson in life learned.. I am putting the Darn Almonds in the Food processer and pulsing,!!! And the coffee grinder.. OH, "DUH" for me.. thanks!!!
When I start chopping I will giggle and think of you!!!..
hugs
Vivian
Hold on a sec Viv! It's easier to buy the ground almonds. If you grind them whole, you have to watch out for turning them into almond butter and it's hard to get whole almonds fine enough.
