Question A question about OWL

Hi everyone. I'm sure someone here can help. You all are the most well read on lcing anywhere on the net. O.k, Now, assuming the diet is working well, and i'm losing like I should, what happens during OWL? I mean, Atkins tells us to add 5 carbs at a time, and then stop when you stop losing. Ok, I understand that. But, I only will weigh myself once a week. Can I assume that if the ketostix are still purple that I am still losing? or can they still turn purple and I not lose or even worse gain? I would hate to go a whole week turning purple and thinking everything is just hunky, and then find out I gained.
Any thoughts?

Thanks,
cimart

Why not go slowly into OWL?

Increase to 25 carbs a day for two weeks. If no gain, then go to 30 carbs a day for two weeks. Keep increasing until you find that magic little number where you stop losing. Then you can back down to lesser carbs to continue losing.

Default I don't think you can add too much on there...

I know everyone is different, but Atkins suggests that ON MAINTENANCE you should stay bw 40 to 60 carbs a day and that's with average meabolic resistance (page 251). I'm on my last few pounds so I try to stay under 40, but the choice is yours. Protein Power suggests on their OWL to stay under thirty, which is what I stayed at for about two months (after induction). I definitely agree you should slowly increase the carb intake.

Good Luck,
Erin
