Default Meat Lovers Stew

I let this go all day in the slow cooker. It was absolutely delicious!

Brown in olive oil, 1 lb. of Italian sausage (sweet or hot) I used hot, cut into bite sized pieces along with 1 pound of trimmed stewing beef. You could also push the sausage meat out of the casings and brown it that way.

To the crock pot add:
1 can beef broth ( I used the low sodium type)
1 pkg. of large white mushrooms quartered
4 celery stalks, chunked
black pepper
1 teaspoon of oregano
1 head cauliflower, broken into small florets (about 4 cups)
1 tablespoon mince garlic (I added this to the browning meat)
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
dash of Tobasco

Mix together. Add meat on top. Cook on Low for 8 hours. After 8 hours stir in 1 tbsp. brown gravy mix and 1/2 cup of sour cream. Allow to thicken slightly. Sprinkle with grated Romano or Parmesan Cheese.

DH thought he would like a couple of fingerling potatoes added for him. Next time I will oblige! He loved it and so did I. I put the leftovers in the freezer for lunch next week.
I adapted this recipe from a similar one in "The Everyday Low Carb Slow Cooker Cookbook"

This smelled wonderful when we came into the house after work. I'm sure the dog was sniffing all daylong!

Poor doggie! An entire day of olfactory suspense! I hope you gave him a little. :-)

Sounds great. I actually love sausage and hadn't thought of putting it in some crockpot dish.
