Went back to lifting heavy this week, and wouldnt you know it, gained weight! GRRRRRR!

I know, I know....Muscles absorbing more fluid, growing muscle, blah blah blah....I still hate it.

Just wanted to say "Damn you scales!!!!!"

When I started exercising, it took weeks, literally about three weeks, for my scale to get below where it started because of that. It was so frustrating, I wanted to cry because I was trying so hard to lose weight.

I hope yours doesn't last that long, but don't give up!

I have the same problem!!! I'm stalled out too. But I KNOW the weight will come off as soon as my body gets used to it. also, when I did WW awhile back they warned that when you start working out the scale stops moving for up to 1 - 3 weeks if not more!

Use your 7 day average weight to really see your progress. The water gains don't affect it as much.

Stop using the scale...go by how your clothes fit you, subtle things like more definition in your arms, shoulders, your face becoming leaner. I know the scale gives instant gratification, but I don't feel it is a good gauge to judge how effective ones diet or routine is.

I have had people stay about the same weight yet lose inches around the waist, arms and such..

They were changing their body composition..and this is such a DUH, but muscle does weigh more than fat.

So if you do use a scale, do so occasionally..don't become trapped to it.

Sorry, Leaddog. I feel your pain. I'm there this week too, as a matter of fact. But I bet you're looking and feeling awesome.

Well I gave myself a phycological boost this weekend. I went to the Dr. on Friday (I'm fit as a horse, and hopefully that is good) and I weighed 188 with my clothes and boots on, so I'm figuring 184. I carbed up Friday and Sat, Sunday I cut out carbs and chopped wood for 7 hours, then weighted myself (cheating, I know). 181! Ha!

So Its a flawed system, it still makes me feel better!

And in fact I am all about recomposition at this point, so I am more concerned with my body structure than weight. Still, I would LOVE to be in the 170's!

By the way my size 34" pants were falling off my butt all day sunday, I would say my recomposition efforts are working! And its not often I have the confidence in my self image to work shirtless all day (being somewhere no one can see me really helped).

Using the a scale is not only unproductive, it's stupid. Get a skin fold caliper. It won't lie to you. It won't make you feel heavier that TOM or after a cheat meal.
