Default Carbonara!

My sister got this recipe from an italian mama. The only change I made was to use Dreamfields Pasta in lieu of regular pasta. It was fabulous! I felt like I was cheating. I suppose this recipe could also be made with spaghetti squash instead of the pasta.

Makes 8 servings

Ingredients:

1 package of Dreamfields Spaghetti
3 eggs
1 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1/4 Heavy Cream
10 slices of bacon
1 tbsp. Garlic
Dash of salt

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add noodles and salt.

Cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces and fry in a frying pan. When bacon is completely cooked add garlic.

In a small bowl, lightly beat eggs with a fork. Mix in cheese.

When noodles are at desired firmness, remove from heat, drain and place in a large bowl.

Add cream to bacon/garlic mixture and stir into noodles.

Mix egg/cheese mixture into noodles and stir until completely incorporated.

Enjoy!

Carbs for entire recipe:

Heavy Cream: 1.66
Pasta: 40
Parmesan Cheese: 2.73
Eggs: 1.83
Garlic: 2.8

Total for recipe: 49.02

Total for each serving: 6.13 carbs

My mother use to make something similar to this, but instead of bacon she would scramble italian sausage, green peppers, and onion together and toss that with the rest. Very delicious! Might have to cook it! Haven't had it in years!

I was told that this recipe is a simple base. You can put anything into it. Peppers and sausage sound yummy!
