Default Confused what is difference between CAD and CALP New

What is the difference between CAD and CALP. I think I have the CALP book. I would like to know what is better for myself I got the book at a thrift store here but wanted to know the differences in what you eat on the CAD program.

Welcome,

RM is the reward meal. CAD was their first book, and states that the reward meal should be balanced and healthy, but does not give specifics. CALP defines the reward meal as 2 cups salad, then one-third portions of protein, veggies, and carbs. Neither have quantity limits, but CALP must be in thirds.

All meals outside of the reward meal need to be VLC, very low carb. As your body adjusts to putting out less insulin, you won't feel the need for so many carbs in the morning. You might want to cut back on your exercise routine until you feel the change.

CAD/CALP really does help with insulin issues, but the weight loss might be slow, you must have patience.

You can also look at older threads on this part of the site- this is a very popular question and there are lots of answers.

I follow CAD. The meals are not restricted, and that works with my life. I don't eat salads and veggies every day, but I try to work them in during the week......... I know my loss is slower because of this, but I am still losing, and I don't have to work, worry or fret about food. But I make sure that I am not overeating at whatever my meals are.

I did CAD a long time ago when I needed to lose 10 pounds and it worked. This time I opted for low carb. I found that I was eating too much for my reward meal--- I had trouble controlling myself. Now that I am much older since I did CAD, I don't lose weight as easily

and once again- thank you for giving yet another piece of evidence that this is NOT A DIET BUT A WAY OF LIFE.
Good luck- but until YOU figure this out.......
