Default Skin Rash...AAAAAGH!

Ok, I'm on day 15 of low carbing and I have had this annoying skin rash on my neck for the past week or so. I'm about fed up with it now since it's itchy/prickly and it doesn't look so pretty either. I wonder if it's normal to get skin rashes when first low carbing as a result of detoxing? I tell ya, I don't like it!

Skin rashes are a common indication of food sensitivities. Have you added any new food to your diet recently, or begun to eat more of something you used to eat only a little of?

It could be any food. The only way to tell is to review the food records you've kept over the past several days. Dairy, chocolate, gluten (probably not the problem, since you're on Atkins), nuts and artificial sweeteners are among the most common offenders.

Another possibility is a skin yeast infection, which seem to be very common in heavy people. (I have a lot of trouble with them.) If you can't identify a food that might be the problem, I recommend you see your doctor. If it's a yeast infection, there's a pill you can take that will clear it up. You only have to take one little pill, and it solves the problem.
