Default Hooray for normal blood pressure!

I measured my blood pressure today: 115/73! Its so exciting, In the beginning of July it was like 140/90 or something. Who would have thought I could have turned it around so fast?

Good job me!

Yup! I think many of us find carbs raise our BP. It's a shame they're blaming it on salt. I just heard another news story last night at how many little kids are getting high BP and they're blaming it on salt.

Actually, if you eat a lot of carbs, salt might be bad. Phinney/Volek suggested that.

I agree, i eat plenty of salt. I find that on low carb i need to salt everything. If I don't the food tastes bad and I get a headache :-(

The salty broth is a lifesaver.

I was borderline hypertensive in late Jan according to doc. A 122#s later, my bp yesterday was 107/71 on a wallyworld machine. Pulse rate coming down too... WooHoo!

Narmical your BF%s are amazing... If you're not careful, you'll be in single digits!!

118/84 for me. Was in the 140/90 range a year ago.

Congratulations on your success.

That's such great news. I am really new to this and am doing mostly paleo type eating but fairly relaxed with dairy and a bit of fruit now and again

I have been borderline high BP 150/100 ish for a while with a doctor talking vaguely about meds but I was clear I did not want to go there.
Have been eating this way for about 3 weeks and dropped 12lbs already so am hoping to see a BP change as well. How long before there was a drop in numbers would you say?

I've lost 60 lbs this year on LC, and my blood pressure still hasn't budged from 135/80-90. I think my last remaining allergy is to the blood pressure machine!

Pre Atkins, over 2 years ago, my blood pressure was about 125/80 with a pulse of 85ish. Now it's 105/73 with a pulse of 68, pretty good considering I don't exersise at all.
