Default Favorite low carb snack = 2 carbs or less?

now you are going to say I'm asking for too much when I add...
- no fake sweetners
- not too salty, a little is ok
- prefer that 2 to be a true carb count not net, but beggars can't be choosy
- won't kick me out of ketosis, staying away from cheese/nuts/sweetners for this reason

want to know what the people who are my inspiration on this site are noshing. trying to keep to fresh, whole foods with a lot of variety since that's how I ate before low carbing...

thanks

You're probably not going to like my suggestions, but a can of sardines or kippers, a hard-boiled egg or two, a chicken drumstick or two, a few wings. I like crunchy raw low-carb vegetables cut up on a plate, too (crudités) with a favorite homemade dressing.

I don't snack very often, but my winner, hands down is:
JayOne Seasoned and Roasted Seaweed. Love that stuff, taste and texture.

- A slice of jarlsberg cheese topped with a slice of butter
- Slices of summer sausage or pepper salami smeared with cream cheese or mayo
- dill pickle and cream cheese
- leftover meat, chopped up with mayo
- bacon
- raw, unsalted brazilnuts (many here find the raw, unsalted nuts don't cause the gain that salted and roasted nuts do)
- raw, unsalted Brazil nuts and butter
- if dairy is ok: whipped cream with pure cocoa powder folded in
- devilled eggs
- almond milk latte (homemade is 1g per cup with the brand I buy; Starbucks is unsweetened but still 4g a cup)

Hope this helps. I know lots of ppl don't snack but I eat 3 meals and two snacks and lose slowly ... But happily.

Homemade or a brand you like? I've tried and can't seem to get into those.

Do you do anything special with the sardines? I have tried them and have limited my use to making a "salad" with mayo and maybe some pickles. been scouring the Net for other recipes since I still have 2 cans and I'm not motivated to eat them. Would rather have tuna salad. The sardines seem a bit strong in flavor for me.

Hmmm... might have to check this one out. I tried some kelp noodles and had an allergic reaction and I'm not normally allergic to anything. I think it was the high levels of iodine.

Your whole post did help, but this one in particular reminded me of an app an aunt used to make. Pickle covered in cream cheese and rolled in ham and then sliced into bite-sized little discs. Yummy and pretty!

I take a can of coconut milk and whip it with a hand blender and a couple heaping tsp.'s of unsweetened cocoa powder. Pour this into an ipopsicle mold with a couple of blueberries or cherries in each. Delicious ice pops, but then I am used to nonsweetened chocolate.

Sardines do have a strong taste to them. I grew up eating all kinds of herring and so am used to it, but I know it's a bit much for some people (which is why I prefaced my suggestion with you're probably not going to like it). I like mashing them with mayo/and or mustard and sometimes chopped onion. Lemon juice and pepper are also nice. They're just such healthy little fishies, I do my best to include them in my diet.

1. I love roasted seaweed snacks- wasabi is my favorite
2. Epic turkey cranberry strip (2 carbs) or epic Siracha chicken bar (1). The bars are large and the strip is a snack. There are tons of flavor so/meats to choose from.
3. If nuts are an issue, you might like pumpkin seeds. I love the "seedz" brand.
4. Half an avocado
5. Hard boiled eggs
6. Rotisserie meat

I like to add ~1/2 tsp of mustard to a can of sardines and mash it in. For me mayo seems to make them taste stronger, but mustard, pickles or lemon seem to cut the strong taste. A bit of olive oil can be mushed in instead of mayo.

String Cheese. I also like it because it takes a longer time to eat, string by string.
