Is the body fat calculator working properly - when I test it against other online resources I get completely different readings...

Here the calculator give me a reading between 32.5 and 33. Tools on other sites have given me a reading of 25%. What is the basis of the calculation here?

Also what's the difference between body mass calculcation and body fat calculation?

Thanks!

Cindy

One major difference is that our calculate it at various times as a chart based recorded weight and measurmenets. So if you suspect the numbers are wrong, double check the values you eneted for each date, weight and measurements, including height in the options/settings.

Here's the formula used:
body fat (female) = 495 / ( 1.29579 - 0.35004 * (log (waist + hips - neck , 10) ) + 0.22100 * (log (height, 10) ) ) - 450

body fat (male) = 495 / ( 1.0324 - .19077 * (log (waist - neck , 10 ) ) + .15456 * (log (height, 10) ) ) - 450

Finally, the difference between the 2 charts is that the first showes percentages (body fat ratio), the second showes the actual weight (lean body mass)
