I knew what the chicken legs and steaks were about, but I didn't know what the other one was. Vaguely thought it was someone carrying a canoe. (Canadian, eh?) Also mildly wondered why the canoe carrier was kneeling. Heavy canoe? Then today as I looked at a poster's numbers (Paul's actually. Hi Paul) and saw he had achieved goal and had 100%, the light went on. Wait a minute. I thought it had. Now I'm not sure. What is the canoe carrier about and is it in fact a canoe?

I thought it was someone crossing the finish line... but now I'm not sure of that!

Talking hi Liz

If you click on the eggcup, chicken leg or steak under the member's sign-in name, a window will open up explaining how these are awards for posting and contributing. The more often you post, the bigger the award. We'll be needing an award for over 3000 posts soon

Some message boards use stars or medals as awards .... here at Active Low Carber .... we give PROTEIN POINTS

The % scale is actually for the member's weight stats, which you can change in your profile. It shows how close you are to your goal weight. To see your own percent, just edit your profile to update your current weight and/or goal.

And FYI, the object that looks like someone carrying a canoe is in fact a chicken drumstick with a bite out of it.

Doreen, I'm pretty sure she means the running guy/canoe carrying guy next to the percentage of goal figure.

I added a blurb about the scales and weight stats to my previous post.

Oh well, someone else out there in Readerland might be wondering ... so the info could be helpful.

*lol* so what do you think he is? Running across a finish line, or carrying a canoe?

Lightbulb hmmmm

Well, if I squint my eyes and get really, REALLY close to the monitor ... the little androgenous stick-person (with a fat bum) looks like they're kneeling and holding a tape measure taut between outstretched arms, with the free end of the tape dangling to the right. The balancing act depicted above it ... hmmm, there's a term for it in Physics that eludes me at the moment. But the principle has been used in sculpture where it seems precariously out of balance ... yet the center of gravity remains such that the whole object is in fact, perfectly balanced.

I think it's a totally kewl symbol of "weigh and measure"

But I could be wrong, I still haven't finished my coffee yet.

Default You're Right

You're right as usual Doreen...

The stick man IS holding a measuring tape, and what's on top is an indication of weights & measures... very well done!
