No. My GP and OB/GYN (PCOS) refused to put me on Metformin or any drug. My OB/GYN felt it did nothing for PCOS and my GP thought it would hinder weight loss for me. I'm not sure why he felt that way. I decided to get a second opinion from an endo. My appointment in next week.

LOL - short answer = no

sounds like a third opinion to me...

if you talk to enough Doctors, I'm fairly sure one will soon put you on medication.

Metformin is the one oral that tends to help you lose weight. In fact Dr B recommends that doctors Rx it for weight loss, when a patient has reasons to avoid an official diabetes diagnosis.

I hope your endo is sane Danielle. Sometimes it is a very long hunt for a sane doctor in this world.

I would rather go the natural way and try and decide it doesnt work before I goto metformin.

i know things dont work the same for evryone but lot of herbs do work without the side effect of diarhea that metformin is so famous for.there are many people for metformin doesnt help weightloss too.

At the end of the day if herbs dont work i have to try metformin .hmmm and i am nervous abt that.

not to mention that Metformin can cause lactic acidosis, which can be life threatening. I did use metformin for a day and a half though and did survive... My bitter melon herbal pills are helping out just fine thus far....
