Default Beans and Potatoes...which 1/3??

Quick Question...Which 1/3 of your plate would beans (like refried) and potatoes fall into for your RM? I'm not quite finished with the CALP book so excuse me if it's in there. Thanks in advance!!

You would place whatever carbohydrates you wish to eat in the 1/3 carbohydrate section. Any and all carbohydrates should be equal to the protein portion as well as the vegetable portion.

There is no limit to what you can include in your 1/3 carbohydrate section, as long as it is equal to each of the other sections!

Sorry, I should have clarified my question better. I was meaning would potatoes fall under RM veggies or carbs? And then beans have protein so I wasn't sure if those were considered carbs as well. But I think you answered my question. I'll consider them both as carbohydrates. Thanks so much!

Swtmelissa,

Both beans and potatoes are on the Carbohydrate-Rich foods list and would be considered carbs!
