Default Will I gain the weight back

I am going to have 3 months off with nothing to do and will be able to devote a lot of time to exercise and being active every day. Once these 3 months are up I will then be doing exercise about 3 times a week. Going from doing a lot to 3 times a week will the weight loss from the 3 months pile back on????

I think it would depend on your eating habits.

It also depends on what kind of exercising you will be doing.

Weight lifting 3 times a week should be perfectly adequate. I would think the same would go with cardio. You don't want to over train.

If you are going to be doing more exercise for the summer, you will probably build more muscle (unless it's all cardio, that has a catabolic effect on your muscles).

When you go back to 3 times a week exercise, if you aren't weight training you may lose some of that added muscle but as long as you stay true to your chosen low carb eating plan you should continue to lose weight.

Could be dangerous if you use exercise to keep your weight down & you are eating up all the extra calories you are burning. In grad school, I had LOTS of time to exercise, and once I finished and started working full time, I found I had to eat less in order to stop gaining weight. I was worried, with all the exercise (A LOT) I was doing, that I could easily suffer from exercise bulimia! Constantly needing to see the machines say I burned 700 calories, six days a week. I didn't lose any weight with all this exericise (or even any fat) because I felt entitled to eat as much as I wanted. Bad cycle!

So maybe you can kick up your exercise program a bit, but try to establish something you can maintain even when your schedule is a bit more full.

best of luck!

I plan to continue to eat the same as I'm eating now when I exercise and after that so that won't be a problem.

Just think of it as a great opportunity to *fast track* your fitness and fat loss. Once you get back to real/busy life, then you have to move slow again I agree with the above posts, if your eating doesn't go overboard with your exercise you will be fine. Plus.. if when you go back to exercising 3 times a week you weight train, then 3x week is plenty.

take care,
Meg
