Question Define a carb blowout

ACK! Those stupid banana chips I had in the cabinet finally got to me. After a long day of work, and then working in my garden in the rain, I had a wonderful dinner - steak and mushrooms with feta cheese and a bit of salad.

After cleanup and watching some tube, I started to get hungry. (I didnt walk today because of the rain) and the exercise usually helps curb my appetite.

So I thought to myself, I have been so damn good. And I have lost weight, I was under my 20 carbs today so a few of those chips wont kill me... I put 3 in my hand and walked away proud. Ok 5 mins later I was back for a small handful... somewhere in the 1/3 cup range I guess.

I feel terrible, guilty... and I'm still craving those freakin things! I HAVE TO THROW THEM AWAY!

So I was thinking since I have been so good, could I consider this a carb blowout? What the heck is a carb blowout? Does it mean going over mildly? Or does it mean... like 100 carbs in a single meal or something...
I've heard of people using a blowout to kickstart out of a stall.

Did I just completely blow everything? YIKES! I'm gonna go drink a gallon of water and pray I just pee it all out.

WAHHHHHHHHHHH! I just miss fruit so much :-(

I wouldn't see any harm in it i eat banana's quiet often (along with strawberries canalope and a peach here or there) and i still keep my carbs in the 20-30 range
I would not call what you did a carb blowout or even a cheat honestly

just my two cents

Arrow Carbs in Banana Chips

FitDay lists 1/3 cup of Banana Chips as 19.69 carbs - 1.57 fiber.

You doubled your daily carbs, but it’s not like you ate an entire chocolate cream pie!

I don’t know much about it, but check out this thread to learn more about different folks experiences with carb blowouts.

Good luck …

Wow thanks - that was a HUGE THREAD!

It didnt effect me adversely except that I wanted to eat the whole bag. I made hubby take the damn bag of banana chips to work today to get it away from the house!

Its so funny, i have no desire for chocoate, potato chips and things like that, yet I am craving fruit! Is that weird?

Lilly, I think that took a ton of discipline to eat only 1/3 of a cup! I don't think that's really a carb blowout.

Default Lots of lessons in that

Like, carbs make me crave more carbs. And then the dangerous part: thinking that I did ok once, so maybe I will do OK the next time. That's how I got back to smoking the last time, one cigarette at a time until I was buying them by the carton.

You can flush just about any food you need to get rid of.

I'm wondering about "hungry" after what looks like a satisfying dinner. Is it possible something in that (diet drinks would be the culprit for me) is making you want to eat more when you've really had enough?

Finally--look at the fruit yearnings. I eat frozen blueberries, in pre-measured portions, and strawberries are good, too. Getting enough vitamins, esp. C? Lack of vitamins will make me really crave the food that would provide that vitamin. I'm safer to eat the fruit first, before the meal, so that the rest of the food is there to cover the insulin reaction. Don't do as well when I eat fruit on its own, or at the end. But that's just me.

I am OFTEN hungry an hour after a good meal.... I never thought about there being a reason.

I take a multivitamin in the morning, so I dont THINK its lack of vitamins. I also do not drink soda, so its not that. Never did drink it even before lc. I'm basically a coffee/tea/icetea/water drinker my whole life, and now its just coffee/tea and water.

Its funny but I am also much hungier at night than in the morning! I've been giving the dog the last few bites of my breakfast!

I had Nat look at my fitday and she make some suggestions on tweaking things!
