Default carbs in sake wine???

Hello

I just read with horror on the net that Sake has 25 gms of carbs per 5 oz.

Does anyone know if this is true? I thought I saw a recipe here of Karen's that had Sake in it, and didn't think the recipe was high carb.

I had several small glasses last night, thinking it's so dry it's fine.

Anyone know?

Thanks

Maggie

Where did you read it? I suppose it all depends on the way it's manufactured.

The count I have for 5 oz. is 189 calories and 7.09 grams of carbohydrate.

Thanks Karen, that makes sense to me...

I did a search and came up with a site that was kind of Q and A's about Sake.

I can't imagine it had 25 gms per 5 oz, it tastes very dry. 7.5 makes more sense to me...

Thanks Karen. I like Sake - particularly with your sushi recipe l made last night, and it doesn't seem to give me any bad effects, no chemicals I guess.

Take care

Maggie

P.S - Even if there's no low carb meal at the Fish House when we're in Vancouver in December, I'm going to try and pop in for a least lunch or tea...

It's quite possible that unfiltered sake has more carbs than the filtered?

Cool! It's easy to navigate the menu and there is always a LC dessert on the dessert menu. Right now it's German's Chocolate Cheesecake!
