Just want to log in, Have recently joined and qualify for this forum, I am 63 and have approx 20 lbs to shift. i am following the rules and also excercising although I cant go too mad. I have two carbon fibre heart valves and a pacemaker.

I am sometimes astonished when i see an old photo and think when i was thin like that and of course much younger I took it for granted and never gave much thought to what I ate !!

Anway I just hope this works.

Default Hi and Hello from another TOFF

Your mention of earlier photos really strikes a note w/ me - only in my case, I see those and wonder why I thought I was FAT!! What I wouldn't give to be "that fat" now! Well, what I will "give" is an Olympian effort to maintaining my goal once it is reached!!!!!!!!!

I think if a lot of us had had a better view of ourselves when we were thin, we would not have put on weight---I can't believe how fat I thought I was at 5"7" and 130# when I was a young adult-----I couldn't be Twiggy, I didn't have the bone structure (and still don't), but I was slender, it's just crazy!!

I think I have a much better perspective now, and I care about my health as well, not just what I look like. I've selected a goal weight I think is good for me, and I'll adjust it up or down as I get closer.

I'm 56 by the way, feel like I'm in my early 40's, a grandmother 3 times over, two children, divorced, and wanting to do a lot of things before I get too old to!!!

Nice to see a couple of responses to the earlier thread. Looking back to the photo thing I never thought Fat or Thin, just took it for granted I am sure for many years I was about 10st ,in your numbers 135/140 lbs which for my height and build was fine.

I think weight started creeping on and staying I got to be late forties I went to WW and got to goal for my 50th Birthday as that year my daughter also got married so the photo's look good !!

That was a long time ago, I had another go and the last time I was spot on was Nov 2000 and since then what with surgery, packing up smoking !! I'm now at this awful stage of being 20 lbs too heavy.

I am following my instructions religously but there is not a lot happening !!
To morow is a weigh day. Last week I hawhen d put back the 1 lb I had lost the previous week.

Anyway must try and stay positive.!

I wish I was like I was in some of my old photo's. I felt fat then but really I wasn't. I think we all feel fat when we are young.
I would kill to be that weight again.
