Default Starting this again...

Hello All,

I am starting phase one of Atkins again after a long time of living a carbful lifestyle, where I gained back all of my weight. My doctor has actually put me on South Beach because I have to watch my fat intake, due to a bout of pancreatitis. That being said, I find that stage one of Atkins gives me the best results. I think I have a slow metabolism and when I move to stage 2 of either of the diets my weight loss almost stops. Stage one of Atkins and stage one of South Beach are similar minus the fat intake. I am sort of melding the two together and doing stage one of Atkins but with a moderate amount of fat.

I wanted to send a note to thank you all for this site. It's a fantastic resource. I am going to try to stay on stage one until I hit my goal weight so I will need luck, support and info... not to mention, a tremendous amount of determination. ;-)

When I began my weight loss journey, I had some intestinal issues that defied diagnosis but were alleviated with very low fat. So I ate low carb/low fat for about 18 months until my issues resolved. I lost weight and remained healthy--so it can be done. Good luck to you.

I'm starting again as well. I pray I can keep motivated this time. It's really depressing yo-yoing and now menopause, too! I can't stay this weight any longer...

I'd love to offer some words of wisdom, but I'm struggling with all of this. Best of luck to you.
