There is a Low Carb store on 24th Street S.E. just off of the deer foot in the Douglas Glen area. I haven't been in it yet and will probably check it out this week.

The Low Carb Shop on 24th has some products made in there kitchen such as lasagna and sausage rolls. There is quite a good stock of things on the shelves and freezer. I'm hoping the Atkins Revels will be coming in.

I just heard that Castus is closing. Possibly moving somewhere else, they weren't sure. But definitely closing at there location now.

Hello

I've been away from the support forum here for a while.
However, I'm back! My plan is not Atkins although I
did lose weight on it quickly. I guess it was just not for
me. My cholesterol went alarmingly high. This is not to
seek that any of you choose another plan.
What I wanted to do was share the method that brought
down my cholesterol...and raised the good stuff.
Eat ALMONDS! 24 a day if you can fit it into your WOE.
That brought me from 9.8 to 5.1. My doctor was very
pleased...so am I, no Lipitor or its kin.
Have a great week, everyone...enjoy this warm weather!

God/dess bless you...
Blessed be...
n0ah (...gotta keep this body movin'! ...)

Hello fellow calgarians I just joined this site, and this is the first time I have done L.C. I have been on it for about nine months. I have lost substantial weight. I am currently on a television show called Taking It Off so I am not allowed to say how much weight I have lost to date because it is still running however to date on the show I have lost 75Lbs that was at about the 14 week mark I am hoping to meet with people in calgary for coffee to swap recipes, support, learn new things and such. Is there a group that exists or would anyone like to start one. Your low carbing buddy Dave.

I live in Medicine Hat too! When I go to Calgary, I go to Diabetic Depot. The one in the south is much larger and the bakery is on 17th. It makes to die for Naniamo (?) bars! I take a cooler when I go. Hey Yipee, Walmart in the hat is clearing out all of their Carb Options stuff for $1.70 a container. Stock up as they are obviously closing the line out.

So far have found a couple of Calgarians that would like to start a little coffee support group if any one else is interested. PM me or post here. Meet every few weeks or so. Let me know. Talk with ya'all later. Dave.

Dave, YES...let's get a group together. Sudsy...I grew up in Souris, which is, as you know, just 30 kms away from Brandon. Been a Calgarian since 1977. Dave, I left a personal e-address in the Taking It Off thread. Hey, I'll be having coffee with a low carb celebrity!

Hi Trunky

Welcome.
I think where you live depends on where you work or need to be on a regular basis and what your price range is. I live in the NW because both my husband and myself work at the Airport. That means I can go home for a quick lunch if I'm so inclined. But really there are lovely places all over the city and lots of my friends and co-workers live in Cochrane and really like it. I have lived all over the city in the 25 years I have been here and I prefer the NW because there are lots of routes in and out of the area and the crime rate is really low in my neighborhood. Some parts of town only have a few main feeder roads and rush hour is awful.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
Kelly
